Peptide

Type

Crystagen is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator (Glu-Asp-Pro) derived from thymic extract that modulates immune system function through epigenetic regulation of immune cell gene expression. It influences T-lymphocyte, B-lymphocyte, and macrophage activity, normalizing immune function in aging populations. Used primarily in longevity and immune support research, it is a Russian-developed peptide bioregulator with decades of observational data but no formal Western clinical trials.

Overview of Crystagen

Crystagen enters the cell nucleus and interacts directly with DNA and histones to modulate gene expression in immune cells, upregulating heat-shock protein (HSP) synthesis, regulating cytokine production (including IL-6), and stimulating normal lymphocyte proliferation while inhibiting tumor cell lines. This epigenetic mechanism restores thymic microenvironment integrity and T-cell differentiation capacity that declines with age.

immune support

  • Normalizes immunogram in elderly patients with impaired immunity.
  • Restores immune function after infectious diseases.
  • Helps normalize immunity after radiation and chemotherapy exposure.

stress resistance

  • Increases stress resistance and reduces respiratory infections in athletes.
  • Doubles expression of heat-shock protein gene HSPA1A.

antitumor

  • Inhibits proliferation of K-562 human erythromyelosis tumor cells.

Crystagen Protocols

Subcutaneous injection provides the highest bioavailability for Crystagen's thymus-derived tripeptide (EDP), bypassing gastrointestinal degradation entirely. Inject into abdominal fatty tissue or the front of the thigh at bedtime, at least 2 hours after the last meal, across 5-20 day courses repeated 2-4 times per year.

Reconstitution Instructions

Materials needed:

Crystagen lyophilized powder vial (20 mg)Bacteriostatic water (2 mL per vial)Insulin syringes (0.5-1 mL, 29-31 gauge)Alcohol swabsSharps disposal container

Steps to reconstitute

  1. Remove the Crystagen 20mg lyophilized vial from refrigeration and allow it to reach room temperature for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Draw 2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a fresh insulin syringe.
  3. Insert the needle through the rubber stopper and inject BAC water slowly down the inner wall of the vial — never directly onto the powder.
  4. Gently swirl the vial in a circular motion until the powder is fully dissolved — do not shake.
  5. Allow the solution to rest for 2-3 minutes; inspect for clarity and discard if cloudy or particulate.
  6. Draw the target dose into a fresh insulin syringe and remove air bubbles (at 2 mL total volume: 10 units = 1 mg; 5 units = 0.5 mg).
  7. Cleanse the injection site (abdomen at least 5 cm from navel, front of thigh, or back of upper arm) with an alcohol swab and allow to dry.
  8. Pinch a fold of skin, insert the needle at a 45-degree angle, and inject slowly over 5-10 seconds.
  9. Withdraw the needle, apply gentle pressure with a clean swab, and rotate to a different site for the next injection.
  10. Store the reconstituted vial refrigerated at 2-8°C and use within 14-28 days.

Frequently asked questions

What is a peptide dosage calculator?

A peptide dosage calculator is a free tool that converts your vial size, bacteriostatic water volume, and target dose into an exact syringe draw volume. Instead of doing the reconstitution math by hand, you enter three inputs and instantly get the concentration of your solution and how many milliliters or syringeunits to draw. This calculator works for single peptide compounds and multi-peptide blends.

How do I calculate peptide dosage from a vial?

To calculate your peptide dose, divide the total peptide content of your vial in micrograms by the volume of bacteriostatic water you added in milliliters. This gives you your solution concentration in mcg/mL. Then divide your target dose by that concentration to get your draw volume. For example, a 5mg (5,000 mcg) vial reconstituted with 2mL of BAC water gives a concentration of 2,500 mcg/mL. A 250 mcg dose would require drawing 0.1mL. This calculator automates all of those steps instantly.

How much Bacteriostatic water should I add to a peptide vial?

Most people add 2mL to 3mL of bacteriostatic water per vial, but the right amount depends on the dose you want to draw and the syringe size you are using. Adding 1mL to a 5mg vial gives you a concentration of 5,000 mcg/mL, making each dose very small in volume. Adding 2mL gives you 2,500 mcg/mL, which is easier to measure on a standard insulin syringe. A general guideline is to choose a volume that puts your typical dose somewhere between 10 and 30 units on a U-100 syringe. Use the calculator above to test different water volumes and find what works for your dose.

How are peptides different from proteins?

Both are made of amino acids, but peptides are much smaller than proteins. Because of their tiny size, peptides can act like tiny messengers in the body, sending specific signals to your cells to tell them exactly what to do.
